Andrew Gomes has been passionate about mathematics since childhood, excelling in school and earning distinctions in Pure and Applied Mathematics during his Biomedical Engineering degree. He later pursued an Honours degree in Mathematics, further deepening his expertise. As the Head of Mathematics at Redhill School, Andrew has extensive experience teaching IB Mathematics, guiding both top-performing students—such as national Math Olympiad competitors—and weaker students to achieve success. He loves the IB syllabus for its inquiry-based approach and enjoys fostering curiosity and confidence in his students. His structured yet engaging tutoring style ensures that students not only improve their results but also develop a genuine appreciation for mathematics.
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process. Each one is interviewed to assess their teaching ability, completes a test of their IB subject knowledge, and has passed a police and background check. They bring extensive IB tutoring experience and a proven track record of helping students achieve their academic goals
