Alex is a second-year Economics student at University College London on track for First-Class Honours, after having graduated from Vienna International School with the IB Diploma, scoring 44/45 points.

Alex is natively fluent in Spanish, German, and English and proficient and Russian and French, allowing him to accommodate students to their preferred language. Amelia graduated from MLC School Burwood in 2021. In school, she achieved awards for academic achievement in psychology and visual arts as well as a perfect score of 45 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma. She achieved the top score of 7 in HL English Literature, SL Biology, HL Psychology and SL Mathematics (applications and interpretations), all of which she has a passion for and is excited to share with her students. Amelia has been awarded the Chancellors Merit Scholarship at the University of Tasmania where she is studying a Bachelor of Marine and Antarctic Science with a major in Marine Biology.

Aster is an experienced international educator with a Bachelor's degree in Physics and several years of experience teaching and tutoring students across a range of international curricula, including Cambridge, Australian, and other globally recognised programs. She specialises in Physics, Mathematics, Science, English, and academic skills development, and has worked with students from primary school through to senior secondary levels.

Throughout her career, Aster has taught students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, including Australian students in online learning environments. Her experience extends beyond subject content to helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, exam techniques, academic writing, and independent learning skills. She is also experienced in supporting students with essay writing, research projects, and assessment preparation.

Aster's teaching approach focuses on making complex concepts clear, engaging, and accessible. Cheryl is a highly qualified Biologist. She holds a First Class Honours degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the University of Sheffield and a PhD (focusing on the oxytocin receptor in the male reproductive tract) from the University of Bristol.

For the last 26 years, Cheryl has taught in independent schools around the globe (including the UK, NZ and Egypt). She has taught Biology at the following levels: GCSE, A level, IB MYP and IB DP as well as NCEA courses in Biology. She has also taught Chemistry and Science and Environmental Systems and Societies. Keeping up to date with the courses through professional development, Cheryl's understanding of the mentioned courses is current.

Cheryl's students have consistently achieved grades greater than their CEM data predictions. This means that Cheryl always adds 'value' to the achievement of her students. She is particularly adept at advising on the Internal Assessment element of the Biology IB course and can provide feedback or mark the entire IA to give an insight into what grade you might achieve. Cheryl is proud of the fact that the the grades she awarded her students throughout her career matched with those of the IB examiners: her marking was consistently 'consistent' with them. This is no mean feat!

Cheryl also likes to aid students with study and revision skills. She has a Master's degree in Education and Psychology from the University of Cambridge. Her thesis investigated the impact of graphic organisers on metacognition and learning.

Cheryl has been described as approachable and good humored and builds working relationships easily. She uses a constructivist approach in her teaching which means that her students are not passive but active learners.

I am an IB tutor with a strong background in both the academic and practical aspects of the International Baccalaureate program. I hold a degree in Management Information Systems, an MBA with a specialization in Project Management, and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Information Systems Management. I studied English Literature and History at the Higher Level (HL) during my own IB journey, achieving top marks that reflect my deep understanding of these subjects.

Throughout my tutoring career, I have helped students navigate the complexities of the IB curriculum, including preparing them for their Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). I specialize in English Literature, History, and the full range of IB subjects, and I take pride in guiding students through the unique requirements of each component. I’ve helped many students improve their grades by teaching them not only the subject matter but also essential skills like critical thinking, essay writing, and time management.

My approach is personalized—I tailor my lessons to fit the specific needs and learning styles of each student. I focus on building confidence and ensuring that every student not only understands the material but also enjoys the learning process.

Claire’s teaching experience spans 35 years, initially as an English and Drama teacher and from 2008 onwards as an IB Psychology teacher and personal tutor. Claire has taught GCSE and A Level Psychology as well as leading and teaching IB Psychology to international students. She also has a lot of experience as a personal tutor and as a supervisor and marker for the extended essay, as well as a great deal of experience as an IB examiner.

Claire works freelance as a resource writer and online tutor teaching groups and individual students from across the globe e.g., Vietnam, Switzerland, Hong Kong, China. She has co-authored two full-length IB Psychology textbooks (the ‘Psychology Sorted’ series) and topic IB textbooks for tutor2u on Relationship Psychology and Developmental Psychology plus student revision guides for all topics as well as having written countless Factsheets on a range of psychology topics for Curriculum Press. Claire particularly enjoyed running workshops for international teachers as part of the IB Conference in Barcelona.

Claire’s lessons are tailor-made to suit each student: they consist of lots of fast-paced activities, quizzes and games all designed to embrace the full range of learning styles, as well as in-depth exam work, unpacking questions and working on embedding critical thinking into exam answers.

Claire is a keen amateur figure skater: when she’s not teaching she is to be found in the middle of a freezing cold ice rink trying to perfect the toe loop jump and other terrifying skating elements!
