Joogal teaches IB Biology and Chemistry at one of the top IB schools in Singapore. He holds a degree in Chemistry and Microbiology from the National University of Singapore, where he also obtained a Second Class Upper Honours degree in Microbiology. He subsequently completed a Master of Education (Merit) at Nanyang Technological University.

With 21 years of experience teaching the IB, Joogal has taught both IB Chemistry and IB Biology and is also trained in Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS). In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has worked with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) for 20 years as an IA moderator and IB Theory of Knowledge examiner.

Joogal's students have consistently performed strongly in the IB Biology examinations, with an average examination score of 6.4.

As an IB tutor, Joogal believes that effective tuition should go beyond simply teaching content. During the initial stages of tuition, he provides students with a wide range of resources, guidance and structured support to help them build a strong foundation and develop confidence. However, students are ultimately expected to become independent learners. Joogal provides the framework, guidance and scaffolding, while students are encouraged to engage actively with the material, attempt questions independently and apply what they have learned.

As a Senior Teacher with many years of experience and as the Head of IB Biology, Joogal has extensive experience in identifying students' learning needs, addressing gaps in understanding and developing strategies to help students achieve their individual IB targets.

My approach to tutoring focuses on helping each student develop a strong understanding of the subject while working toward their individual academic goals. I first identify their strengths, learning gaps and areas for improvement, then provide targeted explanations, resources and structured practice. Lessons include guided learning, exam techniques, and regular practice with past-year questions. As students gain confidence, I encourage them to work more independently and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions. My aim is not only to improve grades but also to develop students’ confidence, critical thinking and independent learning skills, enabling them to achieve their desired academic outcomes.
