Mahesh Badgujar – IBDP & A Level Physics Tutor | International Examiner

Mahesh Badgujar is an experienced Physics educator and International Examiner with over a decade of full-time teaching experience in IBDP and A Level Physics. Having worked extensively with students from diverse academic backgrounds, he is known for making complex Physics concepts accessible through clear explanations, practical examples, and a structured approach to learning.

Alongside teaching, Mahesh serves as an Examiner for IBDP Physics HL, Cambridge International A Level Physics, and Pearson GCE A Level Physics. This examiner experience gives him valuable insight into how students are assessed, enabling him to help learners develop the skills and techniques required to perform confidently in examinations.

To deepen his expertise in IB education, Mahesh has successfully completed IBO Category 1, 2, and 3 professional development workshops. These experiences have strengthened his understanding of the IB philosophy and best practices in teaching and assessment.

Over the years, Mahesh has worked with more than 120 students through personalized one-to-one online tutoring. His students have consistently achieved strong results, including 40 students who earned a Grade 7 in IBDP Physics.

Mahesh also specializes in supporting students with their Internal Assessments (IAs). From refining research questions to data analysis and evaluation, he guides students through every stage of the process, helping them produce well-structured and academically rigorous investigations.

My tutoring style is personalised, interactive and focused on genuine understanding. I first try to understand the student — their current level, prior knowledge, areas of difficulty, interests and preferred way of learning. Based on this, I adapt the pace and teaching approach rather than following the same method with every student.I believe Physics becomes much easier when students understand the ideas behind the formulas. I therefore explain concepts step by step and use a combination of visual explanations, diagrams, animations, simulations, real-life examples and problem-solving activities, depending on what works best for the student. I also encourage students to think, ask questions and sometimes arrive at a Physics principle or relationship themselves rather than simply giving them the answer.Exam preparation is an important part of my lessons. I regularly use exam-style and past-paper questions to help students apply what they have learned, recognise different question types and develop effective problem-solving and examination skills.Whether a student is struggling with the basics, trying to improve their grades or preparing for challenging examinations, my aim is to create a supportive learning environment where they understand Physics, become more confident and gradually develop into independent problem-solvers.
