Marcus Meadham is an experienced international educator with over 30 years of teaching Economics and Business Management in IB Diploma and IGCSE programs. He currently teaches DP Economics and DP Business Management at the American International School of Kingston, Jamaica, and has previously taught in schools across Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America. Marcus holds an MA in Education from the University of Bath and has served as both a Head of Humanities and DP Coordinator. Since 2021, he has also worked as an IB Examiner for DP Economics. His extensive classroom experience, leadership background, and passion for global learning make him an engaging and effective tutor for students pursuing success in the IB Diploma Programme.
I see my role as a facilitator. I work with students to identify gaps in knowledge and understanding of concepts. I occasionally will use the time to explain a concept but I believe students learn better by doing so I like to supply them with learning material and worksheets on the topic as well as examination questions. I would then discuss their answers and suggest improvements.
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process. Each one is interviewed to assess their teaching ability, completes a test of their IB subject knowledge, and has passed a police and background check. They bring extensive IB tutoring experience and a proven track record of helping students achieve their academic goals
