I am a UK-qualified international Business and Economics teacher with 13 years of teaching experience across the UK, Vietnam and Thailand. I currently teach IB Business Management, IB Economics and AP Microeconomics at the Canadian International School in Ho Chi Minh City, where I also supervise IB Extended Essays. Previously, I taught IGCSE Business and Economics at Singapore International School and have lectured in Business and Economics at university level.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Business & Law, a Master of Education (M.Ed.), an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (IPGCE), and I am currently undertaking a PhD in Business Management. I have also completed the IB Diploma Programme Economics Category 2 professional development workshop, further strengthening my expertise in delivering the IB curriculum.
Before becoming a teacher, I spent ten years as the Managing Director of a successful training company. This commercial experience allows me to bring business theory to life by connecting classroom concepts with real-world examples and current business practice.
My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. Whether a student is preparing for examinations, improving their understanding of difficult concepts, or aiming for the highest grades, I focus on developing confidence, critical thinking and effective exam technique. I believe students learn best in a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, challenging ideas and taking ownership of their learning.
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process. Each one is interviewed to assess their teaching ability, completes a test of their IB subject knowledge, and has passed a police and background check. They bring extensive IB tutoring experience and a proven track record of helping students achieve their academic goals
