Nawarat W is originally from Thailand, where she attended an international school on the island of Phuket. She graduated in 2015 with the IB Bilingual Diploma (in English and Thai), achieving a 7 in HL English Language and Literature. Nawarat then moved to London to read English at King's College London, before completing an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), including a CELTA qualification, and subsequently a PGCE in English.
Nawarat has taught in London schools for six years and has spent the last three years teaching the IB Diploma Programme. She has experience teaching both IB English Language and Literature and IB Literature, as well as Theory of Knowledge (TOK). She also supports students with Extended Essays, helping them develop the critical thinking, research and academic writing skills required for success in the IB.
Having experienced the transition from an international school to higher education and professional life in the UK herself, Nawarat has a strong understanding of the challenges faced by many international students. She is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop a genuine love of learning and achieve their academic goals.
Her teaching style is warm, supportive and encouraging, while maintaining high expectations with a strong focus on academic excellence. She particularly enjoys helping students engage with literature in a meaningful way, encouraging them to connect texts to their own lives, experiences and the wider world. Her favourite author is Sylvia Plath, and during her IB studies she enjoyed writing poetry and short stories.
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process. Each one is interviewed to assess their teaching ability, completes a test of their IB subject knowledge, and has passed a police and background check. They bring extensive IB tutoring experience and a proven track record of helping students achieve their academic goals
