With 19 years of experience in education, I am a passionate and dedicated educator committed to fostering excellence, innovation, and global-mindedness in learning. I am fully qualified with a Master’s degree, Bachelor of Education, and Ontario College of Teachers certification, along with extensive training in the International Baccalaureate curriculum framework.
Currently, I serve as an IBEN Programme Leader and Evaluation Leader for the MYP and DP programmes, while also working as an examiner for IBDP History and the Extended Essay. My international teaching experience across Singapore, India, and Toronto has enriched my ability to connect with diverse learners and educational communities worldwide.
In addition, I am LAMDA-certified with High Distinction in Communication and Performance from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I have also served as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, strongly advocating for the integration of 21st-century teaching practices, technology, creativity, and innovation to create engaging and future-ready learning environments.
Smita's tutoring style is structured, exam-focused, and student-centred, with an emphasis on past-paper practice, source analysis, and essay writing. She provides targeted feedback to strengthen students’ ability to analyse sources, construct clear arguments, use evidence effectively, and develop well-structured, analytical responses.

Each one is interviewed to assess their teaching ability, completes a test of their IB subject knowledge, and has passed a police and background check.
