Mariana Silvestre is a second-year Neuroscience undergraduate at University College London (UCL), where she achieved a first-class average in her first year. During her time at Liceo Europeo in Madrid, Spain, she achieved an outstanding score of 44 points, including a 7 in Biology HL, English B HL, Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches SL, Philosophy SL and Spanish A: Language & Literature SL, as well as an A in both Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and her Extended Essay in Philosophy.
Mariana is a hard-working and motivated tutor with first-hand knowledge of the IB Diploma Programme. She is committed to helping her students build confidence in their subjects and achieve their full potential. Having recently completed the IB herself, she is familiar with both the academic demands and also the importance of taking a strategic approach.
Her lessons focus not only on developing a strong understanding of subject content, but also on understanding marking criteria, exam technique, paper structure and the wider IB assessment system. In this way, she aims to equip students with the full toolkit they need to comprehend exactly what IB examiners expect from them.

Mariana is bilingual in Spanish and English and can teach comfortably in both languages.

I am a UK-qualified international Business and Economics teacher with 13 years of teaching experience across the UK, Vietnam and Thailand. I currently teach IB Business Management, IB Economics and AP Microeconomics at the Canadian International School in Ho Chi Minh City, where I also supervise IB Extended Essays. Previously, I taught IGCSE Business and Economics at Singapore International School and have lectured in Business and Economics at university level.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Business & Law, a Master of Education (M.Ed.), an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (IPGCE), and I am currently undertaking a PhD in Business Management. I have also completed the IB Diploma Programme Economics Category 2 professional development workshop, further strengthening my expertise in delivering the IB curriculum.
Before becoming a teacher, I spent ten years as the Managing Director of a successful training company. This commercial experience allows me to bring business theory to life by connecting classroom concepts with real-world examples and current business practice.
My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. Whether a student is preparing for examinations, improving their understanding of difficult concepts, or aiming for the highest grades, I focus on developing confidence, critical thinking and effective exam technique. I believe students learn best in a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, challenging ideas and taking ownership of their learning.

Masha graduated from the International Baccalaureate programme in Norway with 42 points, placing her among the highest-performing IB students globally. She achieved a 7 in Higher Level History, placing in the top 3% of candidates worldwide, and a 7 in Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation. Having completed the IB recently herself, she offers students an up-to-date understanding of the syllabus, assessment criteria, and examination expectations. She has experience supporting IB students with Internal Assessments, essay writing, source analysis, revision planning, and exam strategy across different stages of the programme. Her teaching combines discussion-based learning with targeted practice, detailed feedback on completed work, and a focus on developing the skills examiners reward. In Mathematics, she emphasises problem-solving methods and exam technique, while in History she focuses on argument construction, evidence selection, and analytical writing. Students also have access to the notes, revision materials, and study methods that contributed to her own results. Masha will begin studying Law at the University of Bristol in autumn 2026.

Martin holds a Masters in Exercise and Sport from Manchester Metropolitan University, alongside a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. He currently serves as the Director of Sport and Head of Physical Education at a leading International School in Hong Kong, where his students consistently achieve elite outcomes, including recent cohorts scoring a remarkable 1.07 levels above the global IB benchmark. He has 15 years of extensive teaching experiences with 8 years dedicated to the Teaching IB. As an active IB examiner and Internal Assessment moderator across both the old and new specifications, Martin brings rare, frontline insight into exactly how top marks are awarded or lost. Beyond his extensive academic leadership, Martin is an ex professional football player in the Hong Kong Premier League and a former youth coach for Manchester City FC, allowing him to uniquely mentor student-athletes in high-performance mindsets and elite exam execution. He is known for his dynamic, highly tech-integrated approach, and his students describe his sessions as demanding, supportive and exceptionally effective at unlocking Level 7 results

Martin Monreal Zapatero graduated from Gems World Academy Dubai with a 44/45 in the IB, the highest grades of his cohort of 167 students. He is currently studying Economics, Management and Computer Science at Bocconi University. During his IB studies, he achieved a perfect 42/42 in the IB subject points, including a 7 in Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation HL, Business Management HL, Economics SL, and English Language and Literature A SL. Martin believes in a structured yet engaging approach, actively interacting with the student about the concepts being explored.

Meghana Thakkar is a highly qualified Science educator and experienced online tutor with a proven track record of delivering IB, IGCSE, A-Level, and MYP curricula. Since 2010, she has provided targeted academic instruction across multiple educational boards (including CBSE, ICSE, and HSC), and has been conducting dedicated online tutoring sessions for international students since 2015.
Currently, Meghana serves as an IB and IGCSE Biology Teacher and Assistant IBDP Coordinator at the School of the Nations in Taipa, Macau. Her institutional teaching experience is deeply informed by her extensive assessment expertise: she has served as an IB Examiner for HL Paper 2 and Internal Assessment since 2014, and as an IGCSE Examiner for Paper 4 since 2023.
Meghana holds an M.A. in Education from the University of Bath and an M.Tech Integrated in Biotechnology from Dr. D. Y. Patil University, where she graduated as a Gold Medalist. To further support diverse learners in virtual environments, she also holds a 120-hour TEFL Certification from the University of Ontario. Proficient in MS Office, HTML, and digital learning platforms, she excels at designing syllabus-aligned materials, breaking down complex scientific concepts, and providing constructive, assessment-driven feedback. Known for fostering strong, communicative relationships with both students and parents, Meghana is dedicated to leveraging her academic rigour and examiner insights to help learners achieve their highest potential through online education.
