Daniel is a dedicated bilingual high school graduate who just finished IBDP in PLKCKY. Having achieved an IB bilingual diploma with a score of 43 (including 7 in AA HL), he is deeply passionate about mathematics and physics.
Being one of five students selected to represent Hong Kong in the International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT), placing within the top 30 in the HKUST Physics Olympiad Training Program, earning university credit in Mathematics Level 2 through the HKUST Dual Program while still in Year 10 and earning numerous scholarships in science and mathematics in my school has allowed him to gain offers from top universities like Imperial College London(Physics), HKUST(DDP T&M), HKU, UCL etc.
Beyond academics, Daniel has accumulated valuable teaching experience through various school clubs and mentorship programs, where he has worked closely with younger students. These experiences have helped him develop a patient, encouraging, and intellectually engaging teaching style. Daniel is truly excited to share his enthusiasm for mathematics, and to help students not only improve academically but also discover the joy of learning this subject.
Daniel's teaching blends intuition with results. First, he will create a 1-2 month plan targeting the student's weak topics. Lessons start by reviewing incorrect homework questions, then teaching the topic through guided practice. After covering all topics, a final revision lesson where the student redoes every question they previously got wrong locks in new knowledge. After each lesson, the student's progress will be recorded on a google document available so that all parties are updated on the student’s progress. This structure locks in deep understanding and transforms past mistakes into measurable grade gains.

Life motto: The best is yet to come!
Approach to tutoring
BA in English Language and Literature, MA in Linguistics.
Author of a bespoke curriculum and textbook for English language centred on critical thinking and project based learning.
I view learning as one of the best things life can offer, and take that approach to my students.
It’s a journey of discovery of ourselves and the world around us and formal education is just one of its segments.
Learning is a two way street and for me as a tutor it is essential to find out how a student learns and understands the subject before I tailor-making a course that would suit the needs.
Whether it is a preparation for an exam or following a regular curriculum, it is vital that a student is motivated to learn.
Often, students underperform due to the lack of confidence which can be caused by various reasons.
In my many years of tutoring experience, I have found that building a student’s confidence is a key to success.
When working with SEND students, I have developed a unique tutoring style which includes music and songs, audio cards for vocabulary and non-verbal communication, a sequence of shorter activities in order to keep focus and interest.
There is no greater satisfaction than seeing an initially withdrawn student blossom, sing and realise their potential, almost always moving towards the next stage of education, rejoining schools and colleges.
Teaching experience
I have over 35 years of teaching and tutoring experience.
I specialise in teaching English (GCSE, IB), EAL, English for Functional Skills, Levels 1 and 2, but can also help with maths.
I am also a SEN tutor with over 7 years of experience.
Career Aim
To bring the English language and literature to life by imparting its knowledge and beauty. To help students gain confidence and achieve the next level. To remain an unforgettable teacher.

Lili is an experienced international educator specializing in IB Mandarin Chinese and Economics at both SL and HL. Teaching internationally since 1999, she holds IB Educator Certificates and has served as a Chinese essay examiner in Switzerland. She has extensive knowledge of IB assessments, including examinations, Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, and Theory of Knowledge.
Throughout her career, Lili has supported students from international schools through private tutoring and established tutoring companies. Her student-centered approach allows her to adapt lessons to each learner’s strengths, needs, and academic goals, helping students build confidence, strengthen their subject knowledge, and work toward their desired IB grades.

Lina graduated from the University of Wollongong with both a BSc and MSc in Chemistry, achieving a High Distinction average. She began her career working in the pharmaceutical industry, where she applied her chemistry knowledge in a real-world setting before transitioning into education. Since 2004, Lina has been a dedicated chemistry educator with extensive experience teaching international curricula including IGCSE, Cambridge O Level, Cambridge AS Level, Cambridge A Level, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (HL/SL), and Advanced Placement Chemistry.
With over two decades of teaching experience, Lina has developed an extensive collection of resources and exam-focused materials to help students master challenging concepts and perform confidently in their assessments.
Lina’s teaching philosophy focuses on helping students understand the “why behind the why” so they truly grasp concepts rather than memorizing them blindly. Her lessons typically begin by checking students’ prior understanding, followed by clear modeling of concepts, guided practice, and finally independent problem-solving. She also provides additional practice questions for students to work on outside lesson time to reinforce learning.
Because chemistry can be highly abstract, Lina emphasizes visual explanations and real-world connections to make ideas clearer and more intuitive. She creates a supportive and safe learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities.
Outside of teaching, Lina enjoys traveling and staying active through outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and jogging.
